Pedro Chamorro Posada

 

Pedro Chamorro-Posada was born in Villagarcía de Arosa (Spain). He obtained the Telecommunications Engineering Degree (Premio Extraordinario) in 1992 and his Ph.D. in 1995, both from the University of Vigo.    During 1995 and 1996 he was an academic visitor at the Laser Optics Group of the Imperial College of London.  From 1996 until 2011 he was Associate Professor at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Valladolid where he is a Professor since 2011.

He is currently Head of the Photonics, Quantum Information and Electromagnetic Radiation and Scattering Group (GFOR) at the University of Valladolid.  His main research interests include: optical solitons, nonlinear optics, quantum information and communication, photonic devices, computational photonics, new materials for photonics applications, terahertz spectroscopy, and photonic integrated circuits.
